Just In - 2009 Corn following soybeans with Orthman 1tRIPr

E4 Sons Co. Farms Offer Results of Strip-Till Comparison plots to Direct Seeded Corn in the Harrison County, IA area. Cooperative effort with Channel Bio Seed products.
This one-page report depicts the results of the 2009 corn crop. We observed that Strip-Till and Direct Seeded 109 day corn were very similar in average yields. Landscape position does show an advantage to the Direct Seeding after soybeans.
All of the strip-till pre-plant tillage and fertilizer application was with a 4 row Orthman 1tRIPr on 30 inch rows.
