Research and Demonstration Farm

The Irrigation Research Foundation is a private, non-profit, independent research and demonstration facility located one mile north of Yuma on Highway 59 in northeast Colorado.

Established in 1994 by local agricultural producers, we are proud to be in our twelveth year as a non-profit organization. The main focus of the IRF is to promote proper water usage and to provide a location for testing important issues that affect the region's agricultural producers. The Irrigation Research Foundation Staff, Cooperators, and Board of Directors are all dedicated to researching new technology that will improve crop production while conserving our most valuable commodity - water.

The Irrigation Research Foundation is a premier research facility which is highly regarded by producers as well as companies in agribusiness. Throughout the year, the IRF sponsors various field days and events which are very well attended by farmers in the tri-state area. The Foundation has up-to-date information on new technology and the effects of products from hybrids to herbicides. The IRF has hosted its annual Farm Show in August since 1996.

Funding for the Irrigation Research Foundation is provided through the crops that are produced on the farm, and the studies and demonstrations that are conducted each growing season.
