Field tours, See what is new with Orthman implements, soil pits to observe and discuss root development
Discussion of fertility applications with precision placement from Orthman's agronomist, Kugler agronomists, and BioGreen representatives, hybrid selection for strip-till, day length, is row direction important, economics of fertility in 2009, and much more.

On-going research at OMI Farm - Lexington, NE

    a. Replicated Comparison study of Irrigated Strip-Till versus Direct Seeded crops involved: corn & soybeans, numerous varieties of corn, 3X observations of root development, stalk/node-internode measurements, leaf area index, soil quality studies, and yield

    b. Replicated studies of fertilizer placement with strip-till and 'In-furrow' materials and foliar feeding - all strip-tilled. Using commercial fertilizer and 'Green" products.

    c. North-South direction vs. east-west direction comparison studies in corn, reviewing standibility, leaf and plant size for photosynthesis capacity at this latitude - all strip-tilled.

    d. Excell Seeds variety plots on strip-till

    e. Attempt for Maximum yield with two hybrids under best water management - strip-tilled.

    f. Observing 3-day lengths 105-108-113RMD with N-S and E-W row direction for the Central Platte River Valley - all strip-tilled.
